Position Overview:
  • Assembly and Fabrication:
    • Assemble wire harnesses according to blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. 
    • Cut, strip, crimp, solder, and connect wires and connectors. 
    • Prepare layout boards for new designs and define cut-sheets for new assemblies. 
    • Use hand and power tools, including wire twisters, crimp presses, and wire strippers. 
  • Testing and Quality Control:
    • Perform continuity checks and other electrical tests on harnesses. 
    • Ensure all assemblies meet quality standards and specifications. 
    • Troubleshoot and identify issues with assemblies. 
  • Documentation and Processes:
    • Read, interpret, and work from drawings, specifications, and procedures. 
    • Collaborate with engineers to develop and document future processes. 
    • Utilize internal company software to process work orders. 
    • Maintaining Harness board wire lists and board drawings 
    • Creating and updating work instructions for wire harness board products.
  • Other Duties:
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment. 
    • Use various mechanical and precision calibrated tools. 
    • Handle small parts and distinguish colored wires for accurate assembly.
    • Ability and willingness to complete other duties as assigned.
    • This role involves cross-training opportunities in other departments to enhance skills and support team needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Skills:
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings. 
    • Proficiency in soldering, crimping, and wiring techniques. 
    • Knowledge of tools and equipment used in wire harness assembly. 
    • Basic math skills and ability to follow instructions accurately. 
  • Experience:
    • Experience in assembly, production, or manufacturing environments. 
    • Previous experience with wire harness assembly is preferred. 
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Vocational training or an associate's degree in a related field a plus. 
  • Other Skills:
    • Attention to detail and excellent hand dexterity. 
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
