Position Overview
Benshaw is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Technician to support operations, field service & purchasing. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for Pittsburgh’s Material Review Board (MRB) activities. This position is responsible for ensuring that defective components found during production, material control or field service are processed accurately, efficiently, and aligned with operational and quality standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. Your efforts will directly contribute to material accuracy, quality control and improve feedback loops. Responsible for controlling nonconforming product in all product and processes utilized in the manufacture, inspection, testing, and release of finished product.
Essential Job Duties
Overall coordination, tracking/status of all in-house MRB material.
Position Location: On-site, Benshaw, 615 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 (Not eligible for relocation assistance)
Position Hours: Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm; eligible for voluntary overtime as needed

Essential Job Duties
Overall coordination, tracking/status of all in-house MRB material.
- Interfacing daily with various departments to provide status of open MRB items and to seek closure on those items.
- Work closely with Engineering, Field Service, Inspection, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Finished Goods, Suppliers, Manufacturing and Quality to identify priorities and resolve open issues.
- Process dispositioned material – Return parts to suppliers, scrap parts, verify tasks completed and approved per released instructions.
- Initiates material transfers, reports quality issues, records transactions in IFS as needed to preserve traceability and inventory accuracy.
- Maintains the accuracy of identification and count of materials.
- Responsible for maintaining the calibrated tooling for production, testing, service & R&D.
- Facilitate the calibration of or disposition of non-functional calibrated tools.
- Facilitate the year end calibration of all Benshaw’s calibrated tooling.
- Performs any other projects or duties that may be assigned.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and non-conformance management
- Experience with MRB processes, including review and disposition of non-conformances.
- Proficiency in using engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Ability to identify and develop solutions for routine problems of limited scope and complexity
- Experience in using established practices and procedures to resolve issues
- Ability to interact with other Benshaw team members and suppliers to provide or obtain necessary information.
- Experience in creating reports and documentation related to quality decisions and actions.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a Quality role
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical data
- Prior experience in quality control or inspection roles is beneficial, especially in manufacturing or production environments.
