Benshaw is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Manager to lead all aspects of our shipping and receiving operations, overseeing more than $8 million in monthly outbound shipments. This individual will be responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of all inbound and outbound logistics while supervising and developing a team of warehouse professionals. This is a hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

This individual will be responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of all inbound and outbound logistics while supervising and developing a team of warehouse professionals. - Leadership & Mentorship: Effectively lead, coach, and develop a team of 3+ employees to meet daily operational goals.
- Process Ownership: Proactively manage shipping and receiving operations to ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency.
- Problem Solving: Address logistical challenges with confidence and implement practical solutions.
- Adaptability: Cross-train in all department roles and step in when necessary to ensure continuity of operations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understand and enforce OSHA, DOT, and hazardous material handling regulations.
- Time & Task Management: Prioritize and plan daily workload based on fluctuating demands.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in workflow, accuracy, and safety initiatives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of shipping and receiving, ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods.
- Verify and document shipments against purchase orders, invoices, and bills of lading.
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records; investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies and damages.
- Manage international shipments, including preparation of customs documentation and coordination with freight forwarders.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Hire, train, and lead team members, ensuring cross-functional skill development and performance accountability.
- Process freight claims and coordinate with carriers for resolution of damaged or missing shipments.
- Monitor shipping/receiving performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Maintain inventory of department supplies, ensuring materials and packaging are adequately stocked.
- Support and enforce best practices in warehouse layout, storage, labeling, and traffic flow.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Valid certification and experience operating both Sit-Down and Stand-Up Forklifts.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, DOT shipping regulations, and hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT) preferred.
- Familiarity with international shipping practices and required documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations).
- Proficient computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and ERP systems; IFS ERP experience is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the day in a warehouse environment.
- Forklift certification and ability to safely operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, shrink wrap machines, etc.).
- Knowledge of Lean principles or 5S methodology is a plus.
