Position Overview:Benshaw’s Quality Assurance Technician performs various inspections of in-process & outgoing components/assemblies. They record & analyze the findings of the inspections to ensure that company, governmental & UL standards are met. Our QA Technicians verify that all of the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase.
In addition to physical inspections, Benshaw’s QA Technicians are expected to assist with implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects such as Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Torque Monitoring or Terminal Crimping Analysis to mention a few.
As an output from CI projects, the QA Technician may be requested to create project plans for assigned Continuous Improvement Projects & make necessary presentations to a group (Co-workers, management, vendors, customers).
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspections of pre-test & post-test components.
- Assist with implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Create project plans for assigned Continuous Improvement Projects & make necessary presentations.
- Work with operation departments to make suggestions & create implementation plans for process improvements to enhance product quality depending on FPY results.
- Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation.
- May draft procedures and work with the operation teams to implement procedures.
- May assist with validating or troubleshooting testing methods, including assays.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Ability to create analysis of complex issues & present analysis in either power point or other software.
- Physically close each unit (bolt on doors / covers) & ready the unit for shipping
- Besides units built within an enclosure, you may be asked to inspect RTFT, Ship Loose & Spare Parts
- Ensure that all check points of the production team as well as your own quality check points are inspected & necessary corrections are documented.
- Maintain quality records in IFS as well as photo documentation
- Any other duties assigned to you by management within your skill set
- 2-3 years wiring, assembly or testing/troubleshooting experience of drives, soft starters, sub-assemblies and/or various components in a panel shop environment. Experience in a 508 UL Panel Shop strongly preferred.
- 2 years experienced testing / trouble shooting complex electronic assemblies
- High School Degree or equivalent; Associates in Electronics or equivalent technical trade school preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic panels and assemblies down to the component.
- Ability to read a schematics.
- Computer skills - Windows, Word, Access, Excel, Outlook.
- Dependability, willingness to work overtime, no attendance issues.
