Position Summary
Benshaw is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the daily accounting operations of the organization. This role is responsible for general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and assisting with budgeting and audits. The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing financial data, improving processes, and working collaboratively across departments.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Complete monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Support external audits by preparing requested documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting.
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties, along with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • 2 - 4 years of accounting experience.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • ERP experience required (IFS preferred).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
