Position Summary:
The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of order processing and management including price, compliance, and order information validation for Benshaw Inc. products. The position provides leadership for the Inside Sales team in support of securing exceptional customer satisfaction levels and ensuring compliance with company processes, procedures, and code of conduct standards. This position is a critical customer interface whose leadership and commercial acumen are critical to overall business success. The position reports to the National Sales and Marketing Director. Foundational commitment to employee core competency and organizational development, adherence to company code of conduct policies and overall business and personal integrity are required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures timely management of all aspects of Benshaw product order processing and support to maximize customer satisfaction and profitable growth of Benshaw products in North America, attaining financial objectives established by business leadership
- Partner with Human Resources to provide environment of continuous employee competency and skills development with specific focus on continuous improvement of Inside Sales team commercial, product and system expertise
- Provides team leadership for activities associated with receiving, processing, coordinating, tracking, orders for Benshaw orders.
- Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, shipping & receiving, technical support, testing and accounting departments to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Provide details for quotation to order entry to ensure proper processing of purchase orders. Review completed orders for errors and or omissions
- Assign account responsibilities to inside staff and ensure inside staff is meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of customer service, support, and work
- Direct channel development activity to account managers, manufacturers’ representatives, inside staff, sales engineering staff and coordinate sales distribution by establishing territories, quotas, and goals.
- Grow and support key business initiatives.
- Support business growth and contribute to attainment of Established Success Measures identified below.
- Sales volume in accordance with annual operating plan targets
- Order (booking) volume targets
- Price quality targets in support of overall business profitability objectives
- Customer net promoter improvement targets
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related area
- Minimum of 5 years of successful experience managing and inside sales or customer service support team in the Industrial Automation or related industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support both internal and external individual and team engagement
- Demonstrated experience evaluating, modifying, and improving office and operating processes in support of order efficiency and customer satisfaction objectives
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
- Requires strong commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Ability to travel 10% or more depending on customer needs
- Detail orientated, independent self-starter
- Proficient with ERP, CRM, email, word processing and related tools and systems
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills required
- Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Experience managing sales representatives through relationship life cycle.
- Specific experience with IFS ERP, Microsoft Sales CRM
- Strong understanding of costs and margins—ways to improve the bottom line
