We are currently seeking a Production Trainer in our Pittsburgh, PA location.

Position Overview:
Benshaw’s Production Trainer performs various inspections mainly in-process & postproduction of assembled items. They record & analyze the findings of the inspections to ensure that company, governmental & UL standards are met. Our production trainer verifies that all workmanship standards and quality procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase.

In addition to physical inspections, Benshaw’s production trainer is expected to implement training programs for all new manufacturing hires.  These training programs will include classroom and on the job training.  They will help with implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects, 5S for example.

As an output from CI projects and training programs, the production trainer will be responsible for updating the Company Skill Matrix when needed.  They may also be requested to create manufacturing employee performance and development plans.

Job Responsibilities:
•     Create training programs for new hires in the manufacturing areas
  • Training the basic IFS Job Packet information to all Shop Floor Employees
•     Work with the quality team to make suggestions & create implementation plans for process improvements to enhance product quality depending on FPY results.
•     Work directly with new employees during training process establishing best work practices.
•     Facilitate and maintain training skill levels on company Skills Matrix.
•     Inspections of in-process manufacturing & outgoing assemblies.
•     Assist with implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects.
•     May assist production when needed and at Manager’s request.
•     Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
•     Ability to create Root cause analysis of complex issues & present countermeasures in either power point or other software.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Degree or equivalent; Technical Degree strongly preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in a U.L. 508 panel shop required, preferably with electrical equipment manufacturing experience.
  • Measuring skills, Computer skills, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Have experience in a business system (Oracle, IFS (preferably), etc)
  • Ability to work independently to complete milestones
  • Good time-management skills and ability to set priorities
  • Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork

Job Details:
  • This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week, and additional hours when necessary.
  • Daylight shift, Monday through Friday, weekend work and overtime
